01 / WHAT WE DO

Same diagnostic discipline, ordinary repairs

A performance shop that cannot fix a wheel bearing is a hobby. Most of what comes through the bay is normal work, and it gets tested rather than guessed at like everything else here.

Brakes and suspension

Stops and rides right

Pads, rotors, lines, struts, bearings. Leveling kits and lift work on trucks.

Transmissions

Done right, done once

Diagnosis first. A hard shift is often a solenoid or a fluid problem, not a rebuild.

A/C

R-134a and R-1234yf

New machine on site, so we can service the newer systems most independents send away.

Fuel and electrical

Pumps, injectors, gremlins

Fuel delivery testing, wiring repair, and the intermittent faults nobody else wants.

Maintenance

Fluids, filters, timing

Everything on the schedule, with an honest note about what actually needs doing.

Pre-purchase

Before you buy it

An hour on the lift before you spend the money is the cheapest inspection there is.

Frankfort, and everywhere around it

We are on County Road 800 N just outside Frankfort, which puts us inside easy reach of Lafayette, West Lafayette, Rossville, Delphi and Monticello. A lot of our customers drive past two other shops to get here.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

How do I know if my brakes need replacing?

Squealing when you brake is the wear indicator doing its job — that is a warning, not an emergency. Grinding means the pad is gone and you are cutting into the rotor, which turns a brake job into a brake-and-rotor job. A pedal that sinks or a car that pulls to one side when stopping should be looked at the same week.

How often should I get an oil change?

Most late-model vehicles run 5,000 to 7,500 miles on full synthetic, but the honest answer is whatever your owner's manual says for your driving. Short trips, towing, and Indiana winters all shorten it. If the car sits a lot, time matters as much as mileage — change it at least once a year.

Do you work on cars you did not sell or build?

Yes. Most of what comes through the bay is everyday repair on vehicles we have never seen before. You do not need to be a performance customer to get an oil change, brakes, or a check-engine light diagnosed.

Can you service my A/C if it uses the newer refrigerant?

Yes. We have a machine for R-1234yf as well as R-134a, which means we can service 2015-and-newer vehicles that a lot of independent shops still send to the dealer.

How far will people drive to you?

We are on County Road 800 N just outside Frankfort, about twenty-five minutes from Lafayette. Plenty of customers come from Lafayette, West Lafayette, Rossville, Delphi and Monticello.
